Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District trustees unanimously re-elected board member Keith Hanson to a second consecutive term as the organization’s President at their monthly meeting in May. Board members also re-elected Vice President Thomas C. Long, M.D., Treasurer Marvin Hill, and Secretary Paul J. Struck. Past BCFPD President Paul M. Heinze continues his service as trustee on the five-member board.

Keith Hanson: President

Mr. Hanson was appointed to the BCFPD Board in 2015, and previously served as Vice President.  He is managing partner of a Barrington-based law firm that specializes in commercial law. As counsel to many nonprofit organizations, Mr. Hanson has helped to establish a variety of charitable and advocacy groups.  He works with local business, government and philanthropic leaders to promote programs that help young people and those facing personal crises.  In addition, he teaches Political Science at Trinity International University, Deerfield, IL. Mr. Hanson and his wife, Stephanie, have lived in the District for 21 years.  They have five children, all of whom are graduates of Barrington High School.

Thomas C. Long, M.D.: Vice President

Dr. Long has served as BCFPD President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer since his appointment to the Board in 1995.  He has lived in the District for 33 years. Board-certified in Emergency and Family Medicine, Dr. Long is a former Associate Medical Director for the Northwest Community and Elgin emergency medical systems.

Marvin Hill: Treasurer

Mr. Hill has served terms as BCFPD President, Vice President, and Treasurer since being appointed to the Board in 2003.  He serves on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts and is the BCFPD’s legislative liaison to the Illinois General Assembly. Mr. Hill, an 18-year District resident, is the former owner of a northwest suburban-based printing company.  He and his wife, Jill, have two daughters: Jessica and Alison. 

Paul J. Struck: Secretary

Mr. Struck joined the Fire District Board in 2013, after serving multiple terms on the Village Board and Zoning Board of Appeals in Lake Barrington, one of the communities served by the BCFPD. An IT professional and business process consultant, Mr. Struck and his wife, Jennifer, have two children.  He has lived in the District for 16 years.

Paul M. Heinze: Board Member

Mr. Heinze, a 39-year District resident, has served multiple terms as Board President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer during his 23 years of Fire District service. Mr. Heinze owns a Barrington Hills-based consulting business that provides acquisition and strategic planning services.
