Trustee Marvin Hill Elected BCFPD President
Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District (BCFPD) Trustees elected Marvin Hill to serve as 2010-11 Board President during the Fire District’s May 17 meeting. He succeeds Paul M. Heinze, who remains on the Board.
Trustees also elected Thomas P. Rowan to serve as BCFPD Treasurer, and re-elected Thomas C. Long, M.D., to a second consecutive term as Vice President.
In addition, Walter W. Dalitsch, D.V.M., a veterinarian with a practice in Barrington, was re-elected Board Secretary.
President: Marvin Hill
Mr. Hill has served as BCFPD Trustee since his appointment to the Board in 2003. He played a key role in negotiating the 2005 intergovernmental agreement for fire protection services between the District and Village of Barrington, and oversaw development of the District’s Website.
Mr. Hill brought more than a decade of investment management experience to his previous role as BCFPD Treasurer, a position he held for the past three years. He is Area Representative to the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts
A District resident since 1999, Mr. Hill is the former owner of a northwest suburban-based printing company. He is Past President of the Wheeling Chamber of Commerce, a former Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club Board member, and has served on the Hoffman Estates Economic Development Commission.
Vice President: Thomas Long, M.D.
Dr. Long is Board Certified in Emergency and Family Medicine, and serves as a medical consultant to insurance companies. A District resident since 1984, Dr. Long was appointed to the BCFPD Board in 1995. He has previously served as Board Secretary, Treasurer and President.
Dr. Long is a former Associate Project Medical Director for both the Northwest Community and Elgin emergency medical systems. Before that, he served as medical director for eight paramedic services in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.
Treasurer: Thomas P. Rowan
Mr. Rowan has managed the District’s Website and public information efforts since his appointment to the Board in 2008.
An advertising professional with more than 30 years of experience, Mr. Rowan is President and CEO of a firm that specializes in advertising, communications and web content. He has lived in the District for 20 years.
Board Member: Paul Heinze
Mr. Heinze owns a Barrington Hills-based consulting business that provides executive coaching, teambuilding, acquisition and strategic planning services.
Appointed to the Board in 1993, Mr. Heinze has served multiple terms as Board President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. He has been a District resident for 32 years.
