BCFPD Families Launch Diaper Drive for Hurricane Harvey Victims
‘Help Keep Texas Dry!’ is Effort’s Rallying Cry
Families of BCFPD firefighters have started a community diaper drive to help Hurricane Harvey victims, and are asking the public’s help to “Help Keep Texas Dry!”
- Infant and child diapers (all sizes).
- Baby wipes.
- Baby formula.
- Adult diapers.
- Hygiene wipes.
- Bed pads.
The Fox River Grove Fire Department and the Lions Club of Fox River Grove have also pledged their support to the collection effort.
All donations will benefit the Texas Diaper Bank, a San Antonio-based nonprofit group that works to meet the needs of vulnerable babies, children with disabilities, and adults. The organization’s current supply of diapers is expected to last only three weeks.
Donations may be delivered to the following locations through September 26th:
- BCFPD Station #1 (22222 North Pepper Road, Lake Barrington)
- BCFPD Station #2 (120 W. Algonquin Road, Barrington Hills)
- Fox River Grove Fire Station (411 Algonquin Road, Fox River Grove)
“We’ve discovered that disaster relief agencies often do not have diapers for children or incontinence supplies for adults,” explained Sandi Motisi, a nurse and wife of BCFPD Assistant Chief Scott Motisi. “This collection drive is a very specific way to families in need as they recover from Hurricane Harvey’s aftermath.”
