Fire Station Equipment Upgrades to Speed
Emergency Dispatch, Improve Response Times
Recently completed equipment upgrades at Barrington area fire stations will significantly improve service to residents and businesses by speeding the emergency dispatch of firefighters and paramedics, BCFPD Trustees report.
An in-depth analysis of response times and future staffing requirements, including a review of current dispatch protocols, was recently completed by the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association on behalf of the BCFPD. Trustees commissioned the study as part of the District’s continuing efforts to monitor and upgrade service to its residents.

NFPA Analysis Reinforces BCFPD’s
Fire Sprinkler Advocacy Efforts
Automatic sprinkler systems reduce the risk of home fire death by 80%, and can decrease fire-related property damage by up to 70%, according to an analysis conducted by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District (BCFPD) officials view the report as validation of their longstanding support for fire sprinklers.

Equine Rescue Training Equips Firefighters With Skills to Protect Area Horse Farms
Specialized equine rescue training completed by Barrington firefighters helped "breed" familiarity between horse and firefighter, and practice skills needed to protect the large number of horse farms within the Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District, Deputy Fire Chief John Feit reports.
